Diego Sierra is a Mexican visual artist whose photographic work explores the relationship between space, light, and the traces of human presence within architectural and urban environments.

His practice is developed through sustained observation across different geographies. Rather than producing isolated images, his work unfolds through the gradual construction of photographic series that evolve over time. Each body of work emerges from long periods of travel, attention to spatial tension, and a continuous study of how architecture and the built environment register human experience.

The camera operates as a tool of reduction — isolating structure, light, and rhythm — allowing each image to function as part of a larger system rather than as a standalone photograph.

His work has been presented in independent exhibitions and cultural spaces in Mexico.

In 2016, he received recognition for photographic excellence in the context of his work as a photojournalist during the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), held in Jalisco, in collaboration with the United Nations.

In 2006, he was awarded third place (Public Prize) at Salón de la Fotografía, Centro de Arte Moderno de Guadalajara.

His work is held in private collections, including Mexico City and Guadalajara.
